The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.
I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.
Tony Field, 60, died peacefully at sunset in Portland, Maine, on Oct. 12, 2024, born Jan. 1, 1964, surrounded by the love of his sister, Karen, and nieces, Jessica and Michelle.
Tony was a 1982 graduate of White Oak High School in Jacksonville, N.C. After graduation, Tony had a career working on submarines in the U.S. Navy, and in IT for various companies in Boston and Raleigh. In 2013, dealing with persistent health issues, Tony moved from Raleigh, N.C., to Bayside, Maine. Tony had many friends from his time in Jacksonville, many of whom he kept in close touch with until his passing.
In keeping with Tony’s wishes, no funeral services or viewing will be held. Tony will be buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor, Maine, alongside his mother and father.
Tony’s family will hold a celebration of life in the spring of 2025 and will send notice when the celebration is scheduled.
