DURBIN .. .. .. Aubrey Durbin, 83, passed away on September 26, 2024, at St. Mary's and Elizabeth Hospital, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Aubrey was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 15, 1941, to the late James and Cora (Ausbon) Durbin. He graduated from Caneyville High School in 1959 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Durbin joined the U.S. Navy later that same year and honorably served our country for 22 years in the submarine service, rising to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
During his Naval career, he served aboard six submarines and was stationed in Kitsap County twice, once at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1972-74, and the second time at the Trident Training Facility at Bangor Naval Submarine Base in 1978-81. Following retirement from the Navy, he later worked as a civilian employee of the Navy at the Trident Refit Facility at Bangor. In 1987, he transferred to the Refit Facility at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in St. Mary's, Georgia, where he retired from Civil Service in 1998.
Durbin was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Vesta (Gray) Durbin; son Keith Durbin; and siblings Leola Garrett, Leland Durbin, Laverne O'Bryan, Elzora Newton, and Leonard Durbin.
He is survived by his son Jeffrey Durbin of Maryland, grandson Chayse Durbin (Kendall) of Florida, and sisters Jeannette Sipes of Georgetown, Kentucky and Delores "Sue" Millay (Tony) of Louisville.
Memorial service will be on Saturday November 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. ET Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Visitation will be on Saturday November 23, 2024, from 11:00-1:00 p.m. ET at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow in Grayson County, where Mr. Durbin was raised.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Aubrey Durbin's name to the Humane Society of the US, the NAACP, and Doctors Without Borders.

DALGLISH .. .. .. Mr. James Parsons Dalglish, born May 7, 1947, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 2024. James resided in Franktown.
He served in the Vietnam War on a top secret submarine in the Pacific. He was awarded a 100% Service Connected Disability. 
Jamie was a renowned abstract painter. His work was exhibited in New York, throughout the United States, and internationally. His work is in numerous collections. He was the recipient of the Polaroid Grant and the Pollock Krasner Grant. Jamie graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and came to New York, attaining a loft at 52 Bond St., New York City. 
He brought David Byrne with him and introduced the band Talking Heads to CBGB’s. The early 70s were a hot bed of creativity around 52 Bond St. Artists like Jean Michel Basquiat, Brice Marden, Vito Acconci, Chris Franz, Tina Weymouth, David Byrne, and Carla Andre were among the regular visitors to Jamie’s studio. Jamie was represented by OK Harris Gallery, Barbara Braathen Gallery, Broadway Gallery, and Hugo De Pagano Gallery, among others.
Jamie continued to maintain his studio in the East Village and Tribecca, New York City, and sold to prominent art collectors. In 2020 he moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, which he called heaven. He proclaimed he had never been happier, surrounded by such beauty and light. Jamie is survived by his loving wife, fellow artist Kathleen Casey, residing in Franktown and New York City; his children, Max Dalglish, Casey James Nunez, and Rosmery Nunez, all of New York City; and one grandchild, Clara Jean Dalglish, of New York City. He is also survived by his sister, Meredith Dalglish, of Oregon, and his brothers, Malcolm Dalglish and Campbell Dalglish, of New York.
Jamie was predeceased by his brother, Tom Dalglish, of Rhode Island.
