I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

PATTERSON .. .. .. Jerry K. Patterson, 70, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at his home.
Jerry was born on March 20, 1956, the son of David Lloyd and Elvera Clara (Johnson) Patterson at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rock Island, Illinois. He grew up in Reynolds, Illinois and Pleasant Valley, Iowa. He worked at John Deere before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. There he served in the Submarine Service where he enjoyed many challenging tours. Jerry was a life member of the U.S. Submarine Vets Inc., the DAV, and the Milan American Legion.
During the last years of his life he enjoyed many hobbies including writing, reading, always learning, and watching his favorite sports teams. Jerry was very generous and always encouraged others. His strong faith in Jesus and witness were visible in how he lived.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Cristina; his son, Shaun; his sister, Jean (Leonard) Chard; his brother, John (Tracy) Patterson; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Christopher Patterson.

ISENHOUR .. .. .. Nathan “Nate” Isenhour, 88 of Pinehurst, NC, formerly of Denver, NC passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, with family by his side.
Born August 09, 1938, in Danville, VA to Nathan and Annie (Gibbs) Isenhour, Nate lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion to country, and deep love for those closest to him. An old school American patriot, he served faithfully in the US Navy during the Cold War as a submariner. He qualified on his first boat, the USS Cobbler SS 344, in 1957 and later became a plank owner on the USS Sand Lance SSN 660. He was a Lifetime Member of the United States Submarine Veterans Inc., Groton Base, and he was a member of the SUBVETs Holland Club.
After his service in the Navy, Nate built a long and respected career in engineering and maintenance, first at Corning Glass in Danville, VA; and later as a sonar technician and developer at BAE Systems in New London, CT and Newport, RI.
Nate found joy in simple, steady pleasures - gardening, fishing, hunting and tinkering with whatever needed fixing. Nate was a lifelong reader with a thirst for knowledge. On occasion, he enjoyed a fine bourbon. Above all else, he cherished his family – his wives, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Nate was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean (Ferrigno), in August 2013, and his second wife, Dorothy (Wieczorek), in October 2024; his parents Nathan Sr. and Annie; and his siblings Noel, Garnett, Willis, Alice, Ira, Annie Lee, and Nancy.
He is survived by his four daughters: Barbara, Mary, Patricia (Rob), Abbigail (Bernie) and his son Steven (Michelle); his stepdaughters Doreen and Nadine (Tim); also surviving are his cherished grandchildren: Jason, Nathan, Taylor, Thomas, Hilary (Tyler), Ryan (Melissa), Casey (Michael), Forrest (Lex), Miles (Ellie), Lyndsey, Liam, Donovan, Shane (Michelle), Shelby, Sharla, Bryce, Grant, Ellery and numerous great-grandchildren. Special love and gratitude are extended to his niece Marilyn, nephew Chuck (Ann), and dear friend Jennifer.

MARTIN .. .. .. William Alex "Marty" Martin, 80, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Warner Center for Caring.
Marty was born to the late Alex and Margaret Anne Kuhn Martin on July 28, 1946 in Vancouver, Washington. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy when he was 17 years old and served for over 20 years before retiring as a "Chief of the Boat" in the Submarine Service.
Moving to Fernandina Beach in the late 1980's, he joined the American Legion, Post 54. During his time as a member there, he served as Commander for over 5 years. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4351.
In his younger years Marty enjoyed playing golf, fishing and cheering on "his" Seahawks football team. While Marty was an accomplished cook and cook many different things, his most requested dish was his famous English Pea Salad.
Marty leaves behind his brothers, Joseph Martin of Dalhart, Texas and Eddy Marting of Notus, Idaho, as well as his many close friends. Marty will truly be missed by many.

ROSEN .. .. .. Brian Scott Rosen, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026, after an inspiring and courageous eight-year battle with cancer. Born on March 3, 1962, in Mineola, New York, Brian's life was a testament to resilience, adventure, and a profound love for those around him.
Brian was the cherished son of the late Abraham Benjamin and Katharine Irene Rosen. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 13 years, Deborah Rosen, and his sons, Adam Michael and his wife Colleen Rosen, Sean Matthew Rosen, and step-sons Dalton Paul Brantner and Connor Farrell Brantner. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished the time spent together, especially during family travels and adventures.
A member of the Torrance Area Youth Band. A graduate of South Torrance High School in 1980, Brian went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. His thirst for knowledge extended beyond academics to his certification as a Scuba Diving Instructor with PADI, and his dedication as a Civilian on Patrol and State Certified Traffic Crash Investigator with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
Brian's career was marked by service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 15 years as a Chief Petty Officer Electrician Mate, retiring in 1995. His expertise as a Certified Nuclear Power Operator on a fast-attack submarine was a testament to his skill and commitment. Following his naval service, Brian embarked on a distinguished career with Philips, where he traveled the world and rose from Instructor to Director of Installations, retiring in 2021.
In retirement, Brian dedicated his time to volunteering with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office as a traffic crash investigator. His active membership in the Italian American Social Club, the Palm Coast Irish Club, and the "Bad Boys" was a reflection of his love for camaraderie and community.
Brian was a man of many passions. He found solace and adventure in scuba diving, capturing the beauty of the underwater world through his lens. He took immense pleasure in cruising, whether exploring the Caribbean, Alaska, Panama Canal, or even Cuba. His evenings were often spent in the company of friends, playing cards, or savoring a fine single malt Scotch or a good Tequila.
Those who knew Brian will always remember his warmth and generosity. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his kindness touched countless lives. His legacy of love and generosity will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

BINION .. .. .. Clifford Avery Binion, 66, of Roundhill, Kentucky, passed away on September 14, 2026, at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family.
Cliff was born on September 11, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, to Autie and Meta Binion. He was the third of four children and was a graduate of Butler County High School in 1978. After a brief collegiate career, he enlisted in the United States Submarine Force as a Nuclear Machinist's Mate. He served onboard the nuclear submarine, USS Sam Rayborn. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he began a career as a technical writer and maintenance instructor at several nuclear power plants across the country.
His life was deeply influenced by his faith, as he received his master's in divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2013. He answered a call to ministry by serving as a pastor in Vaucluse, South Carolina. His faith remained an important part of his life and provides comfort to those who now mourn his passing.
Cliff was known for his exceptional sense of humor, loving to get a rise out of his friends and family. With his humor and quick wit, he had a talent for keeping those around him laughing. He was a diehard University of Kentucky basketball fan, an avid cigar aficionado, and a man who appreciated the simple pleasure of spending time with family at his favorite spot; the hill. But above everything else, Cliff loved his family. Cliff was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Dr. Ellen Crean Binion, and a proud father to his son Kyle Binion (wife Krystle) and his daughter Katie Leguizamon (husband Sam). He was the adoring big brother to Carl Binion (wife LeeAnn) and uncle to Lucas, Logan, and Landon (wife Kate). Few things brought him more joy than to hear giggles and little footsteps running through his house. He was Papaw to Nolan and Natalie Binion, and Sophia, Eliza, and Leo Leguizamon. His children and grandchildren were his greatest source of pride, and nothing in this world meant more to him than his family.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Autie and Meta Binion; brother, Greg Binion; sister Sandy; and several other beloved members of his extended family.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
Cliff finished his race surrounded by family who loved him deeply. His humor, stories, faith, and love will live on through the generations of his family who follow him.
