TorpedoRecoveryLooking.jpg (105594 bytes) Searching for a Torpedo

When we were out to sea sometimes we would fire torpedo's. This is a small electric torpedo. The style or number I can't remember. We would have to recover them and load them back into the Torpedo room. We only had one torpedo room. The After Room was converted to a berthing quarters for enlisted men. This photo was when we were locating the fish after surfacing.

After locating the fish we would come alongside it, and someone would jump in and tie a line around it in order to hoist it aboard.

Loaditaboard.jpg (22161 bytes) We then would hoist it aboard, get it aligned with the loading skid, and lower it back down into the Torpedo Room.
