One More BASH for Gary "Cowboy" McLaughlin
Following are the directions originally sent out for
the 2001
Bash.
From
Freeway 41 - (Easy but longest, takes you through
Fresno)

Go
north on Fwy 41 from Fresno to Coarsegold
-
At
Coarsegold turn left on Road 415 (Raymond Road) for approx. 18
miles
-
In
Raymond, turn right at Road 613 and go approx. 1.1
miles
-
Turn
right on Barn Owl Road, drive to dead end (approx. 1.5
miles)
From
Freeway 41 - (more turns but shorter and less
trafic)
-
Go
north on Fwy 41 from Fresno to Four Corners (four way stop
sign)
-
Turn
left on hwy 145, approx. 8.5 miles
-
Turn
right at Road 33, approx 1.1 mile
-
Turn
right at Road 400 approx 7.1 miles
-
Turn
left at Road 603 approx 3.6 miles
-
Turn
right at Road 600 approx 7.5 miles
-
Turn
left at Road 613 approx and go 1.1 mile
-
Turn
right on Barn Owl Road, drive to dead end (approx 1.5
miles)
From
Highway 99* coming south (this one is best to do in daylight, but
signs clearly mark the way)

Take
Avenue 26 exit at Chowchilla and go east on Avenue 26 to stop
sign

Turn
right at Road 29
-
Turn
left at Road 603
-
Turn
left at Road 600
-
Turn
left at Road 613 and go approx 1.1 mile
-
Turn
right on Barn Owl Road, drive to dead end (approx 1.5
miles)
*If
you're coming across Highway 152 from the west, take the Robertson
Blvd/Chowchilla exit, cross over the freeway and tthrough Chowchilla,
which will put you on Avneue 26
From
Highway 99 coming south or north (this is a good all purpose
route, and if you're in a Motor Home or hauling a fifth
wheel/travel trailer, we recommend this
route)

Take
Avenue 17 exit at Madera and go east

Turn
left at Road 26 (traffic signal)

Turn
right at Avenue 21 (4-way stop sign) (this becomes Road
600)
-
Turn
left at Road 613 and go approx 1.1 mile
-
Turn
right on Barn Owl Road, drive to dead end (approx 1.5
miles)

Once
you turn off the freeway and begin your drive, there are no gas
stations. Be sure to fill up with gasoline before you leave
the freeway area!

When
you reach Barn Owl Road, 3/4 mile of road is paved and 3/4 mile is
graveled. The Caballo Gordo Ranch is at the END OF THE ROAD; keep
driving until you see us.
