On May 26, 1947 Torsk was involved in a submerged collision with USS Johnston (DD-821) off New London. She sustained severe damage to to her periscopes and shears, and had to return to New London, and then to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for repairs. The pictures are courtesy of Ken Guilfoil EN who served aboard Torsk from 1947-1950, and show her alongside pier 12 in New London just after she got back in. Torsk was serving as a training boat at this time.
